Karin Öberg
I was five years old when my passion for thread started. My mother gave me a beautiful box filled with the most wonderful embroidery threads a little girl could wish for.
I am still among the yarn, and my interest in knitting and the endless possibilities that there are in colors, shapes and techniques challenge me to knit further. Knitting creates a contrast to the fast-paced everyday life – it is a slow craft that gives time to gather thoughts and stimulate creativity.
In 1996 I decided to make my own linen yarn and the collaboration with Holma Helsingland started. Now my yarn Kalinka is available in 27 colors and it is sold in several countries. I have also designed a yarn of linen and wool twisted together. A yarn that is perfect for knitting, but also for weaving.
