I also want to make a Christmas hat...
And adults will want one too. That's why I've now designed this lovely Christmas hat, which should have a bit of bling: The hat has just got a garland. A fun gimmick, but actually also useful, because the hat can be easily hung up.
You can make the garland's rings from all your scraps and as long as you want. You need about 2 grams of scraps, and they are not included in the kit. It doesn't have to be the same quality - as long as they have the same thickness (needle no. 3 mm yarn).
The hat is started from the top with the first ring, and finished with a ribbed edge and Italian bind-off. If you doesn't like this closure, you'll just find out for yourself - the hat can be used anyway.
There are 3 sizes of hats so the whole family can get a garland hat.
Size: Small child 0-2 years (Large child 2-6 years) Adult
Guiding yarn usage:
Geilsk Tynd uld, 288m/50g: 2 skeins
OR
Geilsk Bomuld og uld, 232m/50g: 2 skeins
+ leftovers (about 2 g each) for garland. Make as many as you like. The scraps are not included in the kit.
Needle sizes: Double pointed needles 3 mm for i-cord rings + double pointed needles and/or circular needle size 4 mm for the hat itself
Knitting gauge: 21 sts x 29 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette with double yarn
Info: When you buy a knitting kit, there is yarn for the size you choose, and a pattern for all sizes. The pattern also comes as a download together with your order confirmation.
